Position Summary/Objective
The primary responsibilities for the Senior Accountant of the TBO Bank will be to perform a number of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks to ensure accurate and appropriate transactions and GL balances in accordance with GAAP and regulatory accounting expectations. This position will perform the functions below, with the expectations the individual has a strong attention to detail, process development and data management allowing them to verify and reconcile their work in the framework of the bank’s cost account allocations, GAAP, and regulatory accounting. In addition, the position will help to ensure accurate management reporting, regulatory reporting, adherence to accounting policy and procedure as well as perform cost center accounting allocation, routine accounting functions, administrative functions, following up on correspondence, or at times special projects which could include input on forecasting models. We are looking for someone with strong technical accounting skills, who is curious, excited to learn, and flexible.
Essential Functions
- Work with Controller to determine and implement accounting policy. Update and develop accounting procedures as needed.
- Review or perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations related to general ledger accounts and Banking as a Service (BaaS) programs and prepare related entries.
- Prepare payroll, insurance and other third-party source entries.
- Backup certain duties in the accounting department, such as but not limited to accounts payable, fixed assets maintenance, prepaid maintenance, accruals, general ledger entry processing and general ledger system maintenance.
- Ensure accurate cost center level accounting, allocating direct costs by division, and further allocating general overhead by agreed upon formulas.
- Prepare quarterly call reporting and other regulatory reporting with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Determine appropriate data conflict reporting and solve various data conflicts as they arise.
- Manage and track miscellaneous projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with other bank departments on financial business needs, including determinations of proper accounting treatment for current and future business lines, projections and relationships.
- Documents and oversees month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
- Prepare risk assessments for financial, accounting and related operational functions.
- Prepare internal review procedures for financial, accounting and related operational functions based on prepared risk assessments. Ensure related internal review procedures are completed on an appropriate cadence.
- Assist in development of reporting and dashboards for daily operational use, management reporting, and analytical reporting needs for various departments.
- Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations, ASC/GAAP, policies and procedures applicable to the job.
- Work with Controller as needed for administrative assistance and projects.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably bank accounting experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience working in a deadline oriented, fast paced environment strongly preferred
