Position Summary/Objective The Credit Analyst for the bank is responsible for the overall operation of the Bank’s Credit Administration Department, including the underwriting and loan review analysis process, and all functions providing lending support, direction, credit information, and loan policies, procedures and processes to ensure the overall quality of the Bank’s lending portfolio. Essential Functions
- Obtains loan request information from a lender or borrower to analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to the loan.
- Researches background documentation and reviews personal and business financial statements and tax returns. Analyzes financial information and prepares the preliminary analysis for the lender.
- Requests and obtain financial statements on existing borrowers.
- Reviews and prepares written analysis, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions. Prepares or assists in the preparation of loan memorandum for presentation to lenders and/or loan committees.
- Assist lenders with calls on past-due loans as assigned by management with the bank’s loan portfolio.
- Perform ongoing analysis of customers' financial performance and completion of annual credit relationship reviews.
- Assist in assembling materials for committee and board presentations and meetings.
- Assist in the process of ordering and reviewing or completing real estate appraisals and evaluations.
- Follow all applicable laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Two to five years bank credit experience.
- Excellent financial analytical skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Knowledge of personal/business financial statements and tax returns.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
Physical Requirements**
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.
- You must be able to use a computer and other office equipment (e.g., phone, printer).
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and through written correspondence.
- Ability to concentrate and focus on tasks for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
